Brazil canceled a friendly match with Thailand
Representative of the Thailand Football Association (FAT) has announced an international friendly match with the Brazilian team was unexpectedly canceled. A few days ago, the Thai team received an invitation to play friendlies from the Brazilian team during the FIFA Day international friendly.
Siam Sports newspaper revealed that head coach Akira Nishino nodded in agreement and the War Elephants will attend the match on October 11 despite the tight schedule of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. However, representatives of the Thailand Football Association (FAT) have just announced that the War Elephants will not play against Brazil.
Sharing with Siam Sports, FAT representative said: “Brazil plans to play two friendly matches during their tour in Singapore. However, the Singapore team refused to speak because they were busy playing in the World Cup Qualifiers with two consecutive matches on October 10 and October 15, so Brazil could not find a second opponent to play friendly after Thailand.. Because of that, Brazil canceled the match with Thailand”.
Siam Sports also added that Brazil’s decision to cancel friendlies is good news for this team. Thailand plans to rub off with a top-level team like Brazil to gain experience on October 11 before returning to host the UAE on October 15, which could cause disadvantages for physical and potential risk of unwanted injuries for Thailand players.
In Copa America 2007, Brazil defeated Argentina 3-0 to win the championship. It was not until 12 years later that they again lifted the cup to prove themselves the best team in South America. This is also the 9th title in history, second only to Uruguay and Argentina.
It’s undeniable that the Copa America championship this time is a significant effort of not only coach Tite, but also of a team of talented players, who play together and grasp the victory by scored.
