The Liverpool legend surprisingly chose the Premier League squad

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher chose the best team in the Premier League but surprisingly missed some of the Kop stars.

Jamie Carragher has selected seven players from his former club, Liverpool, who are key players in helping the team dominate the Premier League this season.

But surprisingly, there was not a player in this squad Carragher had described as Liverpool’s most important team.

Carragher has chosen all four main Liverpool defenders Warner Warner-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

However, Alisson is not in the goal although the Brazilian goalkeeper has 10 clean sheets this season, second only to Burnley’s Nick Pope (11).

Alisson has missed several Premier League matches this season due to an injury, which makes Carragher prefer Dean Henderson of Sheffield United more than with 10 clean sheets.

Carragher admits choosing the defensive players is an easy decision, despite considering Gomez’s position.

“To be honest, choosing this squad makes me very wary when there are so many Liverpool players. This is one of the positions that I have been thinking long and hard about alternatives, ”the former defender told The Telegraph.

Manchester’s Harry Maguire, Leicester’s Jonny Evans and Leicester’s Caglar Soyuncu were highlighted as potential options by Carragher, but he eventually chose Gomez.

In midfield also has another surprise. This time, the Liverpool player was absent was Fabinho. Carragher declared him “the best player of the club until December” before the Brazilian star was injured and could not find a place in this team.

Man City star Kevin De Bruyne and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish are in Carragher’s midfield trio. Talking about who will receive the PFA Player of the Year award, Carragher said: “Sadio Mane deserves it.” Therefore, it is not surprising that the Senegal striker was in the three spearhead attacks with Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah.

That meant the squad was missing Roberto Firmino, although Carragher had previously stated that no player is more important to Liverpool than him.
